There are certain days in history that change things forever, and when it comes to music and the artists that perform the music today is that day. 58 years ago today the sound and style of music for ever changed.

On July 5, 1954 a 19 year old kid from the projects of Memphis walked into SUN Records recording studios in Memphis, TN for the first time at approximately 7pm and the world of music was forever changed. This person was of course Elvis Presley and he without a doubt changed the face and sound of music.

Presley went on to be the "King of Rock and Roll", nominated for 14 Grammys, starred in 31 films and even appeared on a stamp in 1992.Presley has sold over one billion record units worldwide, more than anyone in record industry history. In America alone, Elvis has had 150 different albums and singles that have been certified gold, platinum or multi-platinum. And it's estimated that 40 % of his record sales came from outside the United States , so it's safe to say that Elvis Aaron Presley was truly loved world wide.
