The long wait is almost over for Aerosmith fans. On Wednesday (March 28) the band will announce the dates for its upcoming North America tour. The press conference is scheduled to take place at the fountain at The Grove, a shopping mall in Los Angeles, at 11:30AM.

The classic dynamic of the Toxic Twins was on full display in the way that Steven Tyler and Joe Perry told their fans about the tour via Twitter. Tyler’s tweet displayed his outsized personality.

OK… NXT WEDNESDAY (((HUMP DAY)))…SEE U AT THE GROVE LA??? … SUMTHIN BIG GOING DOWN!!!…MEET ME AT THE FOUNTAIN…11:30???

Perry’s tweet was, typically, a little more sedate:

We should have our dates all set very soon. We will be announcing them at the Press Conference on Weds at the Grove. Hold on..

You could practically imagine them leaning back-to-back while they sent those tweets via their smartphones.

One date for the concert has already been revealed. On Thursday (March 22), we reported that Aerosmith will headline the Freshwater Suzuki Salmon Festival in Newfoundland, Canada on July 14. Cheap Trick and Uncle Kracker will also be on the bill.

But even more exciting is the news that Aerosmith will release its first album of original material since 2001. They’ve re-worked ‘Legendary Child,’ an outtake from 1991′s ‘Get A Grip’ for the summer film, ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation.’ But if the idea of them releasing a throwaway track for a movie evokes too many memories of Aerosmith’s output in the 1990s, keep in mind that Jack Douglas, who produced much of their legendary work in the 1970s, is behind the board for this one.
