Recently, Russell Anderson from the City of Lawton Animal Welfare Center joined Jeri and I on the morning show to discus an incredible idea for pet owners. The Welfare Center has begun giving pet owners "Pet I.D." cards for the owners to carry in their wallets or purses, so that first-responders would be aware of pets in the victims home that might require attention if they are transported to the hospital. The cards, designed to fit with a driver's license in a wallet or pocketbook, contain space for a contact name and a veterinarian's contact information.

To get one of the cards, please contact the City of Lawton Animal Welfare Center at 580-581-3219, or visit them at 2104 SW 6th street. There are also a limited number available at the Townsquare Media offices, 626 SW D St. in downtown Lawton.
