Don't try this at home.

A Utah teen crashed her car doing the #BirdBoxChallenge, inspired by Netflix's Bird Box, behind the wheel. Despite a warning from the streaming service urging folks not to hurt themselves doing the viral challenge, a 17-year-old girl and her 16-year-old passenger decided to try driving blind.

According to Distilled, the driver had her passenger pull her beanie over her eyes while cruising on a highway. The teen driver, behind the wheel of a pickup truck, careened into oncoming traffic and slammed her vehicle into the driver's side of a white sedan before hitting a light pole.

No one was seriously injured in the crash, but the drive could be facing serious legal backlash.

Lt. Travis Lyman, of the Layton Police Department, spoke with Fox 13 about the incident, which took place Jan. 7. Despite the crash taking place over a week ago, the cause wasn't known until that Friday. Lyman said he was "embarrassed" over the whole thing.

"Honestly I'm almost embarrassed to have to say 'Don't drive with your eyes covered' but you know apparently we do have to say that," he told the outlet. "...The stakes are just so high and it's just such a potentially dangerous thing as it is: to try and do it that way is inexcusable. It really put everybody at risk."

Netflix hasn't addressed the latest Bird Box Challenge fail, and likely won't.
