The death of Bobby Fuller in 1966 remains one of rock's great unsolved mysteries. Now there's word that a novel that links the Manson Family to the case will be turned into a movie.

Dead Circus was written in 2002 by John Kaye -- who shares the name but is unrelated to Steppenwolf's leader. Its story begins in the '80s when a former member of the California madman's cult reveals her secret to the LAPD. Adam Davenport, a writer-director best known for the short film Midnight Son, will write and direct the movie. Filming is expected to start this summer with James Marsden -- known for roles in TV's Ally McBeal and such films as Enchanted and Hairspray -- playing Manson.
