So on Monday of week 3 in my internship, I attended and taped a seminar about sex trafficking by The Red Core.
The event was held in the Shepler Ballroom at Cameron University, and was put on by CU’s Criminal Justice Association.
The seminar was to inform attendees about sex trafficking and all the details about how it can possibly be identified.
They discussed how victims can be kidnapped or “recruited” into the business, and some minor details about what victims may face while they are trapped.
The part that got my attention is how much money sex trafficking brings in. They said that this illegal business makes more money than the corporations, and obviously that money is “under the table” so it can’t be taxed, and won’t benefit society in any good ways.
In fact, it only serves the mastermind criminals who run and manage sex trafficking.
