Those old shoes taking up space in your closet can now serve a great purpose. Not only can they help needy families in developing countries across the world, but they can also help man's best friend closer to home.

Partering with WoofTracks Shoes for Shelters & Rescues, Rainbow Bridge Can Wait Animal Rescue is looking to raise awareness of shelter dogs across the nation. People can now donate new, gently worn or used shoes in several locations in the area, and WoofTrax will donate $1000 for every 2500 pairs of shoes donated to Rainbow Bridge.

The donation from WoofTrax will go towards the purchase of food and supplies for Rainbow Bridge Can Wait's fostered animals. They organization is currently at full capacity and are looking for families to welcome foster animals while permanent homes are found. To help the group or to become a foster family, or to permanent home for one of the animals in the group's care, please contact Rainbow bridge through their Facebook page. You can also adopt an animal through their regular adoption events with Petsmart. Days and times of the events are listed at their Facebook page.

You can drop off your shoe donations to locations across the area, including
Sutherland Nissan, Wind River Harley Davidson, Chuckies Toys, K9 and Kitties Too,
Midtown Animal Hospital, Country Mart on 67th st, Southwest Vet, Lawton Motorsport, Jay Kinder Realtor, Discount Tire, Classic Chevrolet, Walters Hometown Grocery, Charley's Nails and Christa's Alterations.
