We had a great time on St. Patrick's Day 2010.  This year, I'm looking forward to continuing our "Everyone Is Irish" tradition!

In this cheesy video, you can hear when The Darin and I stumbled upon the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Scranton, PA while visiting his parents.  We were actually going to the mall and got stopped by about 4,000 paraders and watchers.

It was FREEZING cold, but we had a great time, found the ONE empty bar stool in the city and enjoyed the after-party, too.

This year, we're trying to find other fun things to do (a little closer to home).  There is a festival in Wichita Falls on Saturday that might just do the trick.  It's a downtown festival (read:  outside so subject to weather).  It's one of those events that is kid friendly, but plenty for adults to do (drink).

Also, it's put on by a guy who knows his Irish.  I don't know if you've ever been to the Iron Horse Pub in Wichita Falls and met Danny, but he's really Irish.  Accent and everything.  No pretending here.

Gates open at 5:00pm and the event will last until 11pm.  Dress green.  Wear layers and have fun.  Tickets are $9 in advance if you are military or a student, $10 if you are everyone else, $15 at the gate and 12 and under are FREE (if they are with an adult).

It's a little steep in price, but if you want a true taste of the Texoma Irish tradition, this might be the ticket for you.
