The Yanshui Beehive Festival in central Taiwan is unlike any festival we've ever seen. It features a huge fireworks display, which many festivals do, but these fireworks are not fired up into the air -- they're shot directly into the crowd of people attending.

Does that sound like your idea of fun? If so, that's a little weird, but you'll be happy to know you're not alone. Hundreds of people get dressed up in helmets and padding to withstand the bruising impact of more than a million fireworks exploding on their bodies.

The idea is that the sting of the fireworks hitting your body is similar to the sting of a bee, and the more stings you receive, the more luck you'll have in the coming year. We all want to get lucky, but apparently some people are willing to go a whole lot farther than others to improve their chances.
