Commuters in and around Lawton / Ft. Sill can expect some delays starting within the next few days. ODOT will start work on the quad-bridge area of I-44. This project is almost identical to the work that was done to the on and off ramps of I-44 back in 2009. That work lasted almost two full years and left many individuals seeking alternate routes to work.

Officials, from ODOT Division 7 in Duncan, say the first phase will start in the upcoming days. They already have a projected completion date of mid October. The projects will consist of refurbishing three bridges and total reconstruction of one bridge. Decorative painting will be placed on one bridge.

Commuters will need to watch for new traffic patterns that will affect not only I-44, but also Cache Road and Gore Blvd. Motorists will encounter lane closures and delays. Plan accordingly and find alternate routes for the next few months.
