Houston Furniture Store Bet Against the Seahawks and lost $7 Million

Losing $7 million dollars would make most of us sick, but this Houston furniture store lost around that amount on the Super Bowl because they bet against Seattle.

The promotion worked like this: anyone who bought six thousand dollars or more worth of furniture from Mattress Mac would have their money refunded if Seattle won the big game.

Over 1,000 families took part in the promotion… and now the store owner has to refund about $7 million dollars to customers.

Mattress Mac says it’s all about creating buzz and a brand and he did both with this promotion.

When asked if he’d do it again next year, he said he probably would.
