OK, we've all done it!  Walked out of the shopping mall or the superstore and can't remember where we parked our vehicle.  I hate it when they move my truck!  Well, that could be a thing of the past!

MALL INSTALLS FIND-YOUR-CAR CAMERAS - To help absent-minded shoppers searching for 'lost' automobiles, Santa Monica Place shopping center in California has installed the nation's first camera-based 'Find Your Car' system. If you lose your car you visit an ATM-like device, enter your license plate number and it tells you where you parked.

I'll bet this guy wished they had it back in 2008;

Every shopper knows the frustration -- stumbling out of the mall after a marathon shopping session, only to have to recall the level, the row, the exact space where you parked the car. But what if that moment of recall never came? An eighty-year-old British man couldn't find his silver Honda in a parking garage after a trip to the pharmacy -- in 2008. The man eventually called off the search and got a ride home. His children went back to look for the car, but they too were unable to track it down, presuming it had been stolen. Fast forward to this past Christmas season when an attendant at the garage noticed the car was unusually dirty and alerted police. They were able to match the car to the owner and reunited him with his wheels last week. The Honda clocked up a daily parking charge of $13.60 -- and after two-and-a-half years, his total due on exit was nearly $14,400. Fortunately, the parking garage waived the fee.
