Like single-cell organisms slowly complexifying and dragging themselves out of the primordial soup that was early Earth, details on the hotly-anticipated upcoming Justice League - Part 1 movie have begun to collect. Some specifics of the film were self-evidently obvious  from the start — there will be a league, they will spread justice, the usual cast of characters including Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) will appear — and some were revealed right out the gate, such as that the Justice League project will screen in two separate parts, both of which will be directed by Zack Snyder. Now, Warner Bros. has set progress on their hopeful Avengers competitor in motion. An exclusive over at Entertainment Weekly breathlessly relates that Justice League will commence principal photography on April 11.

On the long, long list of things we do not know, and which will of course be revealed with grand fanfare over the coming months: the full line-up of the League, who will play whom, who the bad guy will be, how long this movie will be, what the plot will be, what it’s going to be rated, whether it’ll be any good, if Aquaman will ride two dolphins like waterskis, and not to mention a steady trickle of photos, trailers, teasers for the trailers, and teasers for the teasers. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice makes its theatrical premiere in a few weeks, and shooting on that film began October 19, 2013, well over two years ago. Be back here for Justice League on November 17, 2017!
