With all the drama going on between the Girls Next Door these days, the last thing we were expecting was a new music video from one of the reality show's former stars. And yet, here this is, from Kendra Wilkinson:

Truth be told, we had no idea that Kendra — famous for appearing on E!'s Playboy-inspired show in the late-'00s, dating Hugh Hefner and releasing a New York Times bestseller — was gearing up for a pop takeover.

Joining the ranks of reality stars-turned-singers before her (Real Housewives of New Jersey's Melissa Gorga, Love & Hip Hop's Cardi B. and Hogan Knows Best's Brooke Hogan, to name a few), the TV personality's "Lost in Space" is a harmless, semi-contagious EDM jam; a tongue-in-cheek, sprechstimme delight with little musical pretense. The inoffensive dance track doesn't take itself too seriously, and good thing, too: Kendra possesses little traditional vocal talent.

As for the video, it's bizarre, over-the-top, and silly—a sci-fi B-movie bop featuring footage pulled straight from the '60s TV classic, Lost in Space. Kendra plays an alien femme fatale who floats, twerks and gyrates among the stars, green face paint and all, as she torments and teases Dr. Smith with her cosmic charms. She inserts herself seamlessly into scenes from the iconic series, parodying a character featured in the 1967 episode, "The Girl From the Green Dimension."

Speaking to Us Weekly ahead of its premiere, Kendra, who had a cameo in Nickelback's music video for "Rockstar" back in 2006, shared that the unexpected tune is about embracing her sensual side and inner party-girl: "The vibe is like, you know... I’m not dead. I still flirt, like, I still got it."

She also explained that while she's "not really a singer," she considers herself more of a rapper, and intends to create her own genre of music, starting with the dance floor jam. "It’s like pop mixed with rap, mixed with a little bit of EDM," the Kendra on Top star dished. "So it’s kind of like in that mix."

And while that description fits most of the music on Top 40 radio right now, we'll forgive her. After all, her head's in the space clouds.
