We’re still waiting to see how (or if) Matthew Vaughn will revive Colin Firth’s Harry Hart for his sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service, but there’s another character who definitely will be making a rather unexpected return. And given who it is and how we last saw them, it’s pretty safe to assume that this particular character won’t be an ally to Taron Egerton’s Eggsy in Kingsman 2.

According to Deadline, Edward Holcroft will reprise his role as Charlie, Eggsy’s combative fellow Kingsman trainee. As you may recall, the preppy and privileged Charlie antagonized Egerton’s rebellious, street-wise character before ultimately failing the program. He later appeared during the film’s climax, and after a brief tussle with Eggsy, he was assumed dead.

We never exactly saw him die, however, which leaves the door open for his return in Kingsman 2. Given his antagonistic relationship with Eggsy and the fact that the newly-minted agent knocked Charlie out and left him for dead, we can probably go ahead and assume that he won’t be one of the good guys in the sequel.

Holcroft is also known for his role in the BBC series Wolf Hall with Mark Rylance, and recently appeared opposite Ben Whishaw in London Spy. In addition to Egerton and Holcroft, Kingsman 2 also stars Julianne Moore as the new villain and Halle Berry as the head of the CIA, with recent reports noting that the latter’s offer was for two Kingsman sequels.

Kingsman 2 hits theaters on June 16, 2017.
