Summer travel officially begins this weekend with the long Memorial Day holiday.

Are you ready to get out there and drive?

AAA Oklahoma says more people in the state will be driving this year over last.  There will be about 500,000 Okies on the highways this year despite the fact that gas is just about a dollar higher per gallon than last year.

Car travel is not the only mode of transportation that will see an increase.  People who fly in Oklahoma is predicted to go up about 11% over last year.

Despite the fact that hotels, airfare, car travel and everything else will cost you (minimum) 10% more than last year, Oklahomans are expected to travel 27% farther than last year.

Talk about cabin fever!
