The public is invited to recognize Lawton’s youth and teachers this Friday, December 12 at 4:45pm at a parade. The City of Lawton will recognize Class 5A State Champions, the MacArthur High School Football team and Coaching/Teaching Staff.

The parade will be made up of the football team, marching band, cheerleaders, Highlanderettes, Prideline and others associated with the school. The school won their first state championship in the 45 year history of the school this past Saturday.

The parade will start on C Avenue and 2nd Street and proceed north on 2nd street to NW Ferris Ave and enter Elmer Thomas Park at 3rd and Ferris (South Entrance). After arrival in Elmer Thomas Park, parade festivities will continue on the reviewing stand at the festival pad site where City Councilman Jay Burk will emcee the ceremony with area dignitaries for a special presentation.

The MacArthur High School Football Parents Association will have a booth open near the holiday house for concessions as a fundraiser. Funds raised will go towards the $20,000.00 that must be raised to pay for the championship rings.

It has been such a thrill for us here at My1073 to host the games for the first year and to watch these guys take it all the way to state! We can't wait for next year! Thank you for such an exciting year!
