Corey Feldman's yikes-tastic TODAY show performance was met with a tidal wave of online ridicule as soon as it aired on September 16. The former child actor, backed by his costumed Corey's Angels band, delivered a rendition of his "Go 4 It" track that was as entertaining to watch as it was difficult to listen to — and after Corey made it plain that the response has left him "petrified to even go out," a major pop star has stepped in to defend his showmanship.

Count Pink among those who, having put herself out on the (literal aerial) line during live performances for many years, supports the Goonies star's courage to "Go 4 It" on live TV.

"Well I love ya Corey Feldman and I know how much it takes to get up there and do your thing. Keep your head up and know that you're loved," Pink tweeted last night (September 18). Corey, who's been retweeting supporters ("Even Jesus was persecuted," one fan wrote), has yet to publicly reply to Pink's warm message.

Pink's kind words come after Feldman and one of his Corey's Angels band members shared that the jeers their performance evoked have been "really painful" in a since-deleted Facebook video that found him sobbing.

"We just wanted to tell everybody that, like, it’s been really painful," Feldman said, sitting next to bandmate Courtney Anne, who considers herself Corey's "main-gel." "We put ourselves out there and we did the best that we could. And, like, I’ve never had such mean things said about me. Like constantly."

Feldman's herky-jerky dance moves, seemingly influenced by his late friend Michael Jackson and interspersed with dabs and 'trapped in a box' mime movements, have inspired an array of edits. But where viewers saw a bizarrely captivating spectacle, Feldman just felt himself in the throes of artistic expression, and he says the real shame is on his naysayers.

"It was a song, okay? It wasn't that weird," the 45-year-old Feldman insisted [quotes via PEOPLE]. "I'm sorry if it's not good enough for you, but you don't have to beat us up. I just want to say that, like, why is it okay to, like, publicly shame us? ... I don't understand ... It's, like, not PC to, like, say somebody is fat or somebody is white or somebody is black or somebody is yellow or green or if they have a short leg or if they have a missing finger. Like we can't talk about these things. But it's okay to bash Corey Feldman and the Angels."

The negative feedback Feldman received drove him to tears in the video, in which he said he's afraid to leave his house now.

"We can't get out of bed right now," he continued. "We're petrified to even go out ... And I'm sorry, but we just wanted the world to know, like, we're really freaked out over this and it's really not fair."

Should Corey take his lumps for an iffy performance, or as Pink suggests, should he be applauded for living his truth on national television? Weigh in below.
