If you experience issues today with your cell phone or blackberry or any other means of electronic communication, it may not be your provider. The solar flare which is the biggest in six years started Sunday night around 10pm(CST) and is bombarding the earth with radiation. The first waves with the earth within an hour and it will hit in three different areas and should last through at least Wednesday. The radiation is mostly a concern for satellite disruptions and astronauts in space. It can cause communication problems for polar-travelling airplanes,as well according to NOAA.

It can also have effects on electrical grids like the storm of 1989 which caused massive blackouts in Quebec, and the Northern lights can be seen further to the South(which will be a treat for people who have never seen them.)

So just have patience when you drop a call or your Blackberry wireds out on you. This won't last forever. Who knows, you may be a lucky one and not experience a single problem.
