Harry Styles may be focused on his acting career, but according to collaborator Ryan Tedder, the general public shouldn't write off his talents as a songwriter just yet.

“We’ve done a couple of things, I have no idea what they’re for,” Tedder said in an interview with Key103 (via Idolator). "I don’t know if he’s doing an album, I truthfully don’t.”

Ryan Tedder, the lead vocalist for OneRepublic and one of pop's most proficient songwriters, has written material for acts like Kelly Clarkson, Beyonce, Maroon 5 and more.

Regardless of where the material he wrote with Styles may end up, Tedder insists it’s good, and that Styles is both talented and cool enough to warrant future co-writing sessions between the two.

“He’s a phenomenally talented writer,” Tedder said. “You know they say you can’t judge a book by its cover, but clearly the man has taste in a number of areas and that also is true with writing. I would love to write with him in the future for no other reason than he is one of the chillest dudes I’ve hung with and down to earth."

Tedder's not the only artist to sing Styles' praises, either. Grammy Award winner Meghan Trainor predicted Styles’ solo success back in February when she echoed Tedder’s sentiments in an interview with The Daily Star.

"Harry is killing it out here in the US, songwriting for Ariana Grande and myself,” she said. “He’s really talented. I can’t wait to hear what he’s got going.”

Styles is currently filming for Christopher Nolan's upcoming World War II film Dunkirk. We can only hope his solo debut comes around the same time as fellow One Direction member Niall Horan's rumored album, so the two can engage in some friendly competition on the charts.
