Weatherford, OK,  authorities believe they may have found the remains of JaRay Wilson, a teen that went missing on Oct. 15, 2012.

News 9 of Oklahoma City reports that the 14-month investigation conducted by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) and Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) had lead them to a remote area just two miles north of Weatherford.

Hours later after the skeletal remains were found, KFOR reported that authorities arrested 19-year-old Tucker McGee for suspsecion of murder.

Wilson was only 16 years old when she disappeared on Oct. 15, 2012.

Two weeks later, the story received state-wide attention when News 6 reported that Custer County investigators received a tip that the missing teen was possibly sold into a human trafficking ring in Oklahoma City.

According to a report by Oklahoma Magazine, The Sooner state is one the most active states in human trafficking, alongside California, New York and Texas. The publication also reports that of the 40 cities investigated by the FBI, most of the human traffic victims were exploited young children. The agency also determined that most of the cities harbored children from Oklahoma.

Wilson's story gained national attention on Katie Couric's daytime talk show. The episode aired on Sept. 30, two weeks before JaRay Wilson's 17th birthday.

The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's office has not yet confirmed the skeletal remains to belong to the missing teen, but expect to have the results on the identity on the remains in a matter of days.
