With the possibility of a tornado tomorrow, citizens should be prepared and have weather plan. The City of Lawton and Comanche County has designated storm shelters in place in case of a tornado. Here are the places and their addresses in case of a tornado.

Fletcher
Shelter is the old gym at elementary school on Cole St.

Geronimo
Shelter is at Geronimo Elementary School

Medicine Park
Has an unofficial shelter at Judy Robertson's residence located on West Lake Drive, across from old school. It is a two story with basement. Also, for extreme emergencies, the Water Treatment Plant in Medicine Park is made available.

Sterling
Shelter is Sterling Elementary School

Altus

According to the City of Altus website there is no community storm shelter. The city recommends sheltering in a safe room or with a neighbor's storm shelter in the event of a tornado
