If you're lost out on the road, head in another direction.

Tinashe's Joyride era hasn't exactly been the smoothest ride for the SuperTalented singing-dancing phenom, from dodging pettiness thrown her way by Chris Brown on Instagram following their collaboration "Player" to releasing a string of under-the-radar Soundcloud bangers like "Ride Of Your Life" and "Party Favors" to postponing tour dates to having Rihanna possibly-maybe swipe the title track of her own LP.

It was high time for something new.

"SuperLove" is Tinashe's reenergized return to the music scene (out July 15), co-produced by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, the powerhouse production tag-team behind dozens of smashes, including Rihanna's "Umbrella," Justin Bieber's "Baby," and Ciara's "Ride."

Appropriately then, "SuperLove" actually sounds super CiCi, recalling the freestyle funkiness of "Got Me Good" mixed with the "My Boo"-infused "Body Party" remix. Of course, the track still carries Tinashe's personal flair, but it's certainly a far more radio-friendly approach than the more experimental and moody textures on Aquarius and beyond.

"They will never love you like I love you / Say you'll never take my love away," the "2 On" crooner urges on the decidedly pop-oriented new venture.

Was this the right lane to choose this time? Luckily, Tinashe's capable, and certainly versatile enough, to keep swerving until she reaches her destination.

We're onboard for the ride.
