The out pouring of love to the Joplin, Missouri community  continued today as singer Barry Manilow showed up in Joplin, MO with 3 truck loads of band instruments worth 300,00  for the youth of Joplin. Mr. Manilow is using his Manilow Music Project to refurbish the instruments, sheet music and more the band lost when the town of Joplin was ravaged by a tornado last May 22.

A social worker in a group home for the disabled almost lost his life trying to save residents when a tornado decimated much of Joplin, Missouri this spring. Now, his company’s insurance provider is denying him workman’s compensation.

From 2004 to 2007 I lived in Joplin, Missouri and was on the radio at KIXQ and KBTN, All night I tried contacting friends but could only get a hold of a few of them via text and here are some of the text I recieved . " Not much left at my house but we are alive", " Hurt but alive, lost everything glad to be alive" , " I took cover in my bathtub......not sure where it went.
