Occupy Wall Street

New York police removed Occupy Wall Street protesters from their Zucotti Park in an early morning raid this week, and it seems the majority of everybody else couldn’t be happier. According to a telephone survey of 1,170 Americans from Poll Position, 54 percent of Americans agreed with New York’s decision to oust the protesters, who’ve been based in the park for the last two months.

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann didn’t exactly get a warm welcome as she delivered a foreign policy speech in South Carolina last week. In fact, she was heckled off the stage by the loud protests of Occupy Wall Street demonstrators.

Roger Waters could very well fall into the category of wealth dubbed the “one percent” that’s being targeted by Occupy Wall Street, but that isn’t stopping the Pink Floyd star from supporting the nascent New York-based socioeconomic movement.

The Occupy Wall Street movement got a little entertainment from the son of a Beatle earlier this week when Sean Lennon descended on the encampment with some friends to offer up an inspiring revolutionary ditty for the masses. Ice cream wizards Ben & Jerry’s have been outspoken in their support of the ‘Occupy Wall Street’ protests. Sadly, the “new” B&J’s flavor “OccuPie Wall Street” is not real. Turns out it’s a spoof done by the folks at Tauntr as a follow-up to their Occupy Sesame Street parody that popped up on the Web earlier this week.
