The website Thrillist just put together a map of the U.S. that breaks down all 50 states by their most popular and iconic beer.

To qualify, the beer has to be either headquartered or founded in the state, and has to be associated with the state.  It's less focused on the microbreweries making the best tasting beer and more on the brands that are most famous.

In other words, the pick for Colorado is Coors, even though there are plenty of outstanding smaller beers there and it's now owned by a European corporation.

There are also some states where, apparently, the favorite beer is "liquor."  For Kentucky, the pick is Jim Beam, for Tennessee, it's Jack Daniel's,for Louisiana, it's Southern Comfort and for New Jersey, it's Jagermeister.

What is your beer of choice?
