Staying true to the historical almanac predictions, our cooler months are off to a cool and wet start. Over the next week or so, the entire state is looking like it's going to be soggy for a while. Most of SWOK is expecting up to six inches of rain, the far Western areas are forecasting upwards of eight.

While the rain is needed and welcome, in excess, it's going to be quite the event. If you're lucky enough to have waited on the Fall fertilizer and preemergent treatments for your lawn, you might continue holding off until the end of this rain is in sight. That's not to say wait until it's over and gone, but you want to water these in, not run it down the storm drain.
