Now that our favorite fall and winter shows are on a short break, we’ll all need new shows to occupy our every waking moment. Until the new seasons of Modern Family and New Girl resume, here are some great summer TV shows to set your sights and DVRs on.

America’s Got Talent: Premiering a few weeks ago, May 14, on NBC at 8 p.m., the new season of America’s Got Talent boasts a new judge—none other than Howard Stern. Even if the talent is lacking, we can at least hope for some inappropriately entertaining comments from the Private Parts author.

Pretty Little Liars: Season three of this hit teen drama will be coming your way June 5 on ABC Family at 8 p.m. Last season ended on a cliffhanger that is sure to bring back faithful viewers and immediately reel in newcomers to the show.

True Blood: Round up your coven on June 10 at 9 p.m. for the premiere of HBO’s hit vampire show True Blood. We just hope you don’t experience bloodlust while waiting for the fifth season to begin.

Dallas: Will the present-day continuation of the extremely popular ’80s drama Dallas experience anywhere near the success of the original? Let us know by tuning in to TNT June 13 at 9 p.m.

Awkward: On June 28 at 10:30 p.m., you’ll want to be watching MTV. Not to watch Jersey Shore cast members go about their daily business of GTL, but to be in on the only show in recent MTV history that’s actually worth watching. Awkward is a successful high-school comedy that accurately and hilariously depicts the awkwardness of those four years filled with acne, school dances, and so much drama.

What's your favorite must-watch-summer show?
