On Wednesday (June 27), Tiffany Young released her first English single, “Over My Skin," transforming from a saccharine K-pop idol into a powerful soloist ready for her big global breakout.

Tiffany, who debuted in 2007 when she was just 18, is no novice in the music industry: If you were to walk down the street, watch television, or pick up a magazine in South Korea at any point in the last ten years, you’d have likely seen at least one advertisement with the Girls' Generation member's face on it.

Alongside Girls’ Generation, Tiffany performed at Madison Square Garden, released nine studio albums, and even released her own solo music, including the single “I Just Wanna Dance.” Following the group’s ten year anniversary, she returned back to her hometown of Los Angeles to focus on her music and acting careers.

Her addictive new track, “Over My Skin,” is her first full dive into the Western
music industry. Produced by Khwezi and Kev Nish of Far East Movement, “Over My
Skin” is a '90s R&B-inspired track all about confidence, sensuality and female empowerment.

Over a slinky, groovy beat, Tiffany’s effortless vocals take center stage, reminiscent of iconic powerhouse vocalists like Christina Aguilera and Ariana Grande, especially when she delivers flawless vocal runs toward the end of the song.

In Girls’ Generation, Tiffany is known for hitting outrageous high notes. To release a  lead single like “Over My Skin,” one which proudly showcases her sultry, lower register, shows the performer has truly arrived as an artist ready to seize her own vision. Welcome back, Tiffany.
