From shelters to foster and adoption groups, there are many different options when you are looking to add a new four-legged member to your family. Every week Townsquare's Pet Patrol, brought to you by Midtown Animal Hospital, highlights adoptable pets from across the Southwest Oklahoma and North Texas areas, hoping to find homes for shelter pets from throughout the region.

This week we are highlighting animals from 12 shelters, and hope to add more as momentum builds for this project. We will also be featuring information on upcoming events at our local shelters, as well as bringing you information on upcoming fund raising activities for these organization.

The Pet Patrol is brought to you by Midtown Animal Hospital. We would also like to thank Just 4 K9s and Kitty 2, your home for grooming supplies, as well as all of your pets' needs, from food to beds to toys. Please remember to spay and neuter, and of course to adopt, not shop!

We call this boy Bentley and he was abandoned as a stray in the Loco area. His rescuer wanted to keep him, but her health wasn't up to the activity level of an 8-9 month old puppy.

Bentley is a blank slate; but ever so ready to learn all the lessons necessary to become a great family companion! He gets along with the other dogs and is young enough to be taught that cats can be our friends as well.

Bentley would love to have a family of his own with children, to romp with and a big backyard to play in. Please call 580-252-7387 for more information. Bentley is neutered, UTD on vaccinations and tested negative for heart worms, and he has been treated for ticks, fleas & intestinal parasites.

This sweetie is Ida Mae. She loves to give kisses, get tummy rubs and to go for long walks and car rides. Ida Mae loves all people, but she can still get a little too excited and jump to show how excited I am, so smaller children are probably not a good idea.

Ida Mae also love other dogs, but not cats. She  absolutely adores her toys, but she is still a bit of a pup, so she is very hard on them. Her dream family will love to take her on long walks and car rides, have time to run and play with me and have lots and lots of super tough toys. She is house broken and loves when you come outside with her

Ida Mae comes with age appropriate vaccines, heart worm negative, and micro chipped. She is on monthly heart worm preventive as well as flea and tick preventive. If you are interested in this sweet girl, contact Rainbow Bridge Can Wait at 580-654-2513 or on out Face Book page.

We found Sugar in an area shelter. She is one very sweet girl that is getting along with her new foster parents and canine buddies. We're not quite sure what breed she is, but our best guess is a possible combination of Japanese Chin, Pekingese, and maybe one of the Spaniels. She appears to be about 18 months old.

Sugar is so adorable. She is housebroken and will take naps in an open crate. She is current on all her vaccinations, including a rabies shot. Sugar tested negative for heartworms and is on a preventative, and has also been microchipped.

Sugar’s adoption fee is $140.00. For more information about adopting Sugar, e-mail swoan@swbell.net.
