A Lawton area organization that has helped thousands of people in the local area, finds itself search of a new place to call home. Unity Lawton, who has hosted Thanksgiving dinner for the poor and homeless, fundraisers and other community events is looking for a new location to continue their work.

Formerly located in the Unity Next Building, the organization is forced to move as the nearly $5,000 a month rent is just too cumbersome for them to handle. Directors of the group feel the money is better used to further the organization's goals. The group, which is funded by donations, strives to make a difference in the community by being a place where those in need can come in, no matter their needs. Food, clothing, housing, residents in need were taken care of.

With the move, the organization will to change their "open door" policy of helping 'walk-ins' to the center. For now, it will become a "by appointment" only policy for the foreseeable future, as the organization strives to continue its mission to serve the Lawton/Ft. Sill community in a new location.
