Veteran’s Day Celebrations in Southwest Oklahoma
Veteran’s Day, the day where we remember the service that our armed forces (retired and active) have provided for us throughout the years for our country will be celebrated during the weekend. There will be a number of ceremonies all over Southwest Oklahoma to thank those that have served to protect our freedoms and our way of life. Here are some of the ceremonies that will be held to honor those who have served our country.
Saturday, the City of Duncan will hold a parade on Main Street starting at 10 a.m.
Sunday, a ceremony will be held at Veterans Square, which is next to the Lawton public library at 10 a.m., followed by another ceremony at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 2 p.m.
Monday, Cameron University will hold a ceremony at the new Veteran’s Grove at the north side of Howell Hall at 12:50 p.m. Cameron will also provide a complementary meal to active and retired military from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
From all of us at MY 107.3 FM and Townsquare Media of Lawton we wish to express a personal “Thank You” to our veterans and active duty military for everything you do to keep our country safe.
