On Friday, July 31st, the world of professional wrestling lost one of the true legends of the business. But "Rowdy" Roddy Piper's style, humor and charisma lived far outside the squared circle. He influenced the world's of music as a member of the "Rock and Wrestling Connection"; he influenced Hollywood, acting in movies such as John Carpenter's They Live and he influenced the world of MMA, granting his legendary nickname to probably the biggest name in that world today, "Rowdy" Ronda Rousy.

On Monday night, August 3rd, the WWE's Monday Night Raw returned to the region that hosted Wrestlemania 31, San Jose, CA. They opened the program with a tribute to the man that just "came here to chew bubble gum and kick ass."

Then on Thursday Night, after their Smackdown! program, the wrestling promotion featured another tribute to Piper. They premiered their latest program on the WWE Network, "Table For 3",  a program that brings together stars of today and yesterday to tell stories about the business and their careers. The debut featured Piper's final appearance for the WWE, along with his Wrestlemania 1 tag team partner, Paul Orndorff.

Here's hoping they have bubble gum in heaven!
