‘Ghostbusters’ Featurette Introduces Chris Hemsworth’s ‘Big Dumb’ Hunky Receptionist
It’s okay to call Chris Hemsworth’s character in the new Ghostbusters movie big and dumb — those are his words, not mine. In a brilliant bit of casting, the actor sometimes known as Thor plays administrative assistant to Paul Feig’s ghost-busting crew, and a new featurette from the upcoming film will help you get to know Hemsworth and his earnestly goofy sense of humor (and ridiculous good looks, to be honest).
‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’ Adds Channing Tatum, May Be the Best Sequel Ever
As if the cast of Kingsman: The Golden Circle couldn’t get any better, Channing Tatum has up and joined the cast of Matthew Vaughn’s sequel to 2015’s breakout action hit. Tatum made the announcement via Twitter, where he also shared a teaser poster hinting at his part in the upcoming film, which also recently added Game of Thrones favorite Pedro Pascal.
First Look at ‘Piper’ Promises Another Unbearably Adorable Pixar Short
With another new Pixar movie comes the promise of another new Pixar short film, and their latest effort looks as ridiculously adorable and heart-melting as you could possibly hope. It also looks way cuter than Lava — not that it would take much for Pixar to deliver something better than Lava (and good luck getting that song out of your head now). The company has debuted the first image from Piper, the new short film that will probably make your heart grow three sizes when it premieres before Finding Dory.
‘Baywatch’ Photo Introduces Dwayne Johnson’s Squad
It’s not enough to inspire #SquadGoals, but at least the cast of Baywatch looks like they’re having a blast in the latest photo update from Dwayne Johnson. The actor shows off his new squad, and sure, this could be a photo from the Baywatch set — or it could be the centerfold in a Macy’s summer catalogue. Baywatch Squadgate 2016, you be the judge
‘The Huntsman: Winter’s War’ Trailer: Emily Blunt’s Bonkers ‘Frozen’ Superpowers Are Unleashed
Snow White and the Huntsman was a pretty decent fantasy-action update on the classic fairy tale with some solid action sequences in the vein of Game of Thrones — which makes The Huntsman: Winter’s War and its blatant riff on Frozen all the more baffling. The latest trailer for the super-weird prequel has arrived, and if nothing else, we can all agree that A. The cast is great, and B. This movie looks BONKERS.
Han Solo Hopefuls Taron Egerton and Jack Reynor Respond to ‘Star Wars’ Rumors
The most recent reports regarding the young Han Solo movie have Taron Egerton, Jack Reynor and Alden Ehrenreich on the shortlist for the Star Wars spinoff, with rumors that the actors have already screen-tested for Lucasfilm. Just the other day, Miles Teller confirmed that he auditioned for the part, and now Egerton and Reynor are responding to the rumors — or not responding, rather. Their reactions are pretty interesting, to say the least.
‘Batman vs. Superman’ Almost Featured Two Major Batman Villains
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice already has a pretty stacked deck when it comes to characters, with both superheroes bringing their own roster of supporting players to the table in addition to a couple of big villains — maybe more. According to Zack Snyder, there were almost two more villains to contend with in his superhero epic; specifically, a couple of major Batman baddies. And even though these characters never made it into the script, the film still wound up having to leave a few others on the cutting room floor.
‘Avengers’ Star Jeremy Renner Is Down for a Hawkeye Netflix Series
Up until Avengers: Age of Ultron, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye didn’t have a whole lot to do in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making him something of an extraneous character. It’s unclear just how much of a part Hawkeye will have in Captain America: Civil War given the crowded slate of characters, but there is one place where Renner’s hero could take the spotlight: Netflix. Although Marvel currently has no plans to give their MCU stars a spinoff series, Renner says he’d be game to take Hawkeye to the small screen.
‘Batman vs. Superman’ Featurettes Profile the Dueling Superheroes With New Footage
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters in just six days, and we’re currently sitting at peak marketing for Zack Snyder’s superhero epic, with Warner Bros. unleashing a torrent of clips, featurettes, photos and images leading up to the film’s highly-anticipated release. Today brings two featurettes exploring Ben Affleck’s Dark Knight and Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel, their respective motivations and mythology, and while a lot of it is stuff we’ve been hearing for months (Batman is older and crankier and probably needs a nap!), there’s some footage in these videos that we haven’t seen before.
‘Frozen 2’ Star Kristen Bell Says She’s Recording Her Lines This Month
Disney took for-ev-er to announce a sequel to their wildly successful animated film Frozen. Since the film’s release in 2013, the studio has released one animated short, and announced plans for another along with a Broadway musical adaptation. It wasn’t until late last year that Disney officially confirmed plans for Frozen 2, and while we still don’t know exactly when we’ll get to see it, Kristen Bell reveals that production is beginning very, very, very soon.

Will Smith and David Ayer’s ‘Bright’ Lands Netflix’s Biggest Deal to Date
Earlier this month, news broke that Netflix was negotiating exclusive rights to Bright, a new fantasy action thriller that will reunite director David Ayer with Suicide Squad star Will Smith. The new film from American Ultra screenwriter Max Landis is Netflix’s biggest deal so far, nabbing a $90 million budget that could have some interesting implications for the streaming giant, particularly since most theater chains won’t screen films that don’t honor the typical 90-day window between theatrical and home / streaming release.
