I love radio, but I love it because it keeps me connected to people. I've done almost every job in the business and now I have the honor of working at this station! I am married to a wonderful (now) retired MSgt in the Air Force. The Darin makes regular appearances on my show, but he usually refuses to talk, so I have to tell all his stories for him. Dillon is my stepson and his stories are also familiar to those that listen regularly. Dillon could be the next me. He LOVES being on the radio. Most days, I work from home and do my show with a portable studio that was built for me since I am now semi-retired (at the ripe old age of 34). So, if you hear the dishwasher, the washing machine or the sounds of a 9 year old with his Lego, it's all good!

Holidays on a Budget: Gifts
We're on a budget this year. With a truck we had to half finance / half pay for and a surgery that was unexpected, money is tight this year. I'm pretty creative when it comes to the budget and I also understand most people don't start shopping for Christmas presents in July (like, um, I do). So, we're tightening the belt at our house this Christmas and thought we would share some great ideas on
Planning It: 40 Days Till Christmas Countdown
A plan is the best way to have fun -- say the nerds of the world. I'm firmly in that camp so I have a plan this season to make the most of the holidays, eliminate the stress and manage the budget. Thankfully, there are lots of ways to do that in Southwest Oklahoma. So, here's my holiday bucket list. Feel free to use it -- and put it to work to manage your stress and maximize your fun this holi
TownSquare Cares — And So Should You
I'm particularly excited this month about our TownSquare Cares initiative. It's more than just a contest, more than just a donation, it is a personal touch to a family that is sacrificing for the good of us all.
I don't just say this out of appreciation, I say it because I lived it (as have so many others in this building, town, state and nation).
No Black Cats For Halloween
It sounded kinda strange that Lawton Animal Welfare and the Humane Society would restrict the adoption of black cats till after Halloween. Recently published news reports site the idea that some people may abuse or sacrifice these animals around the holiday.
Trick or Treat Etiquette
This year, with Halloween on a Saturday, there will be lots of treats to be given and a few tricks to remember when knocking on a new door. The 'official' Trick or Treat times in Lawton are from 6p-8p. That's when the most candy will be available and the most people will be watching for your little ghost or ghoul.
What To Do About The Ending of the World
It's happening again. The world is ending. This time it was predicted by the eBible Fellowship which is an online group headquartered near Philly.
It's all about that Blood moon last week and seems to be a stronger indicator that the world will end (well stronger than their last prediction of May 21, 2011).
Why Parents Are Miserable
I'm guessing that we break the mold in Oklahoma because we are all awesome and happy -- but just in case. . .
A new study says parents are miserable. Not so much before they are parents, while they are pregnant or when they have an infant -- but after that: misery.
10 Things To Do When Facebook Goes Down
I admit I am not the best social media-er in the universe. I troll Facebook to check on what's happening with people I love but don't talk with every day. I post when something is interesting enough to me, but I'm not a 60x a day poster. What I do know is I am in a very non-vocal minority when it comes to caring whether or not Facebook is working.
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is Saturday
All the drugs in your cabinet you are not actively using need to be destroyed. We've got the places to do that safely.
Fun Time Waster: Peanutize Yourself….
I think this might look more like me than I actually look in real life. I always feel sort of cartoonish.
Today's Time Waster is brought to you by the new Peanuts Movie.
No, they haven't paid us to do this, it's just kinda fun to pick out the kind of clothes and such you would wear if you were part of the Peanuts gang. I ...
Coming Soon To A Tree Near You: Best ‘Leaf Peeping’ In Oklahoma
Leaf Peeping is a real thing (although it sounds like I am making it up). It's when you go outside or on the road to watch the colors change in the fall. In many parts of the country (think New England) it's a crazy beautiful display that lasts weeks and weeks and weeks.
In Oklahoma -- blink too slow and you'll miss it. . . .but that doesn't mean it isn't beautiful. There are some exceptional p
Take The Recycling Survey From The City of Lawton
The city of Lawton has gone back to the drawing board when it comes to our city’s efforts to recycle. The big bins in the park are gone after they were repeatedly used as just a general dumping ground instead of a real way to offer recycling options to the public.
If you want a voice in the decision, you can answer the city’s short survey. Click here to be taken directly to the survey.
