OKC, OK—December 8th, 2014- From the VYPE Top 100, we have whittled down the list and announce the finalists for the Shelter Insurance Mr. Football Award. The 12 finalists have showed extraordinary talents on and off the field. Polls from across the state, as well as media and coaching votes have given us the final 10. Mr. Football Oklahoma will be announced in January.

The public is invited to recognize Lawton’s youth and teachers this Friday, December 12 at 4:45pm at a parade. The City of Lawton will recognize Class 5A State Champions, the MacArthur High School Football team and Coaching/Teaching Staff.

You couldn't ask for a better way to cap off one incredible and most memorable season in MacArthur history as BIG MAC won their first gold ball Saturday night in the 46 years of the schools existence.

It was one incredible night, one unbelievable game to be remembered and talked about for years to come and a game where you really couldn't put into words to properly describe with all what had transpired that night with all the up's and downs from one of the most thrilling and exciting games I have ever been a part of.

Only 8 teams remained in the class 5-A playoffs this past Friday night and the winners of the 4 games being played across the state would advance to the semi-finals next week.

MacArthur was one of those elite eight and had to travel up the turnpike 3 hours to take on the Collinsville Cardinals just north of Tulsa.

Just like that week 10 of the 2014 football season has come and gone last Friday night as it capped off a exciting close to the season on senior night at Cameron stadium as the home town crowd showed their true appreciation before the game to what this senior group has meant to the Highlander nation with one exciting year.

The MacArthur Highlanders found themselves back on the winning track with their second road game in a row taking on the fighting chicks of Chickasha in week 8 of the High School football season.

It was a warm evening October night to play football for the start of fall break in Ardmore which featured two undefeated teams both at 6-0 and a fight for the lead for a possible district championship.

The Highlanders had a lot to prove, or so it seemed to those looking from outside the program, after winning by just two points the week before in Altus. For those around town the question was asked "What happened?" Was there something to be concerned about with MacArthur?
