After the major holiday Thanksgiving, there are several little holidays revolving around shopping - Black Friday, Shop Small Saturday and Cyber Monday. Then there's Giving Tuesday, and there are several ways you can give back to Lawton's local nonprofits and the the community itself.

After all the shopping, Giving Tuesday is what the holiday season is really about: giving. And on Giving Tuesday, various nonprofits highlight what they do best for their communities and how people can help support them.

Give back to local nonprofits in Lawton this year.

So many of Lawton's nonprofits were hit hard this year. Especially this season. The government shutdown affected the entire Lawton community and several community members relied on local nonprofits like they never had before. And with the SNAP benefits being cut, more people took advantage of the services offered by the Lawton Food Bank and other community feeding programs.

Now that the holidays have arrived, some families are still struggling either from the government shutdown, inflation, cost of living, and so much more. So more than ever, Lawton's nonprofits are doing what they do best, but they still need the help of the community members who have enough to give.
