Oklahoma meteorologists are sounding the alarm now: Thanksgiving will be a chilly one. The state is expected to go from above average temperatures to below average within a week.

Oklahoma broke several above average temperatures for November over the weekend. And more above average temperatures are expected this week before a big rain event Wednesday and Thursday. The incoming rain is expected to bring temperatures back down to closer to normal.

Will it snow on Thanksgiving in Oklahoma?

With Oklahoma gearing up for a wet, stormy pattern, residents are wondering if coupled with the Arctic Blast that the state will see snow on Thanksgiving. It wouldn't be the first time!

KFOR Meteorologist Aaron Brackett is seeing snow and rain Thanksgiving evening in one long-range forecast and clear skies in another. The EURO Model shows snow for the panhandle and central Oklahoma, while the rest of the state experiences rain. But the GFS Model is showing clear skies during Thanksgiving dinner.

Per usual, Oklahoma residents will have to wait and see what will happen! And travelers especially will want to play close attention to the forecast the week of Thanksgiving.

Oklahoma's Weirdest Thanksgiving Foods

There is no shortage of weird Thanksgiving traditions around the Sooner State. Even my own family celebrates in our own unique way. Half of us hate turkey, and the others hate ham. Mom hates to spend days cooking for a 20-minute meal, and we all get tired of the leftovers. Instead, we have either a taco fiesta or a Chef Boyardee pizza kit party. Nobody complains.

We're not the only family with a weird Thanksgiving tradition, just take a look at these shockingly common Oklahoma TG dishes. It's amazing what the cooks come up with. The list is heavy on gelatin and jello molds, if anything it'd be worth trying at least one this year. They range from mild to wild, best of luck to you.
