Oklahoma residents woke up to a chilly morning Wednesday, but Thursday morning is expected to be even colder. All of the Oklahoma counties that were in a Freeze Watch for Thursday were upgraded to a Freeze Warning.

On Tuesday, the National Weather Service in Norman issued a Freeze Watch for several counties in western Oklahoma. But on Wednesday morning, the Freeze Watch was upgraded to a Freeze Warning.

The Freeze Warning includes the following Oklahoma counties: Harper, Woods, Alfalfa, Grant, Kay, Ellis, Woodward, Major, Garfield, Noble, Roger Mills, Dewey, Custer, Blaine, Kingfisher, Logan, Beckham, Washita, Caddo, Canadian, Grady, Harmon, Greer, Kiowa, Jackson, Tillman, Comanche, Stephens, Cotton, Hardeman, Foard, Wilbarger, Wichita, Knox, Baylor and Archer.

The Freeze Warning will go into affect at 1 a.m. Thursday and will last through 8 a.m. The National Weather Service in Norman expects the counties within the Freeze Warning to see sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29 degrees.

Oklahoma residents encouraged to make preparations for freezing temperatures.

Its been a while since Oklahoma residents have had to think about freezing temperatures, but residents are encouraged to take precautions now. Oklahoma residents within the Freeze Warning are encouraged to bring in sensitive vegetation, as freeze/frost conditions could damage plants.

Also, residents are highly encouraged to make sure any outside pipes/plumbing are insulated and protected from the freezing elements.

Frost expected Halloween morning with a warm-up for trick-or-treating.

Halloween morning will start out cold Friday with a frost expected for portions of northern and western Oklahoma. But by the time for trick-or-treating comes around, Oklahoma will see a little warm-up and a nice fall evening for the spookiest night of all.

Daytime highs will linger in the 60s with overnight lows in the 30s to 40s. As for the rest of the weekend, Oklahomans can expect nice, seasonable fall weather to kickoff November.
