More Snow and Freezing Temperatures Expected for Oklahoma
Oklahoma isn't our of the winter woods yet! After a week of arctic blasts and widespread snow, local meteorologists are sounding the alarms for Oklahoma's next bout of winter. This time, the freezing temperatures and snow accumulations could be at the same time.
On Monday, Jan. 6, KFOR Meteorologist Mike Morgan posted on his official Facebook page that this past week's winter weather was just practice for Oklahoma. He stated that the third week of January is when temperatures could drop below zero, "plus other stuff."

Oklahoma temperatures will slowly creep back into average by Thursday, Jan. 16, but next weekend is when Oklahoma is expected to have its next invasion of winter.

According to the NOAA's eight to 14 extended day outlook, Oklahoma is expected to have below average temperatures Jan. 17 to 23.
And Oklahoma is expected to also have above average amounts of precipitation during this time.
Recent snowfall already close to breaking records in Oklahoma
Oklahoma has already had some historic winter storms this century, but Oklahoma's snow this week are already close to breaking records for the amount of snow accumulations in one day. More information will be available as accumulation totals are being finalized.
So far it's confirmed that snowfall occurred across a majority of Oklahoma. Preliminary accumulation totals show that the most snow was received in southeast Oklahoma with Ardmore showing nine inches of snow so far.
