Last week Spirit of Survival announced its dates for the 2025 race. The running, walking and biking event will take place the first weekend of October in Lawton, Oklahoma, and registration is now open for this year's events.

Each year residents across Oklahoma and the country take part in Spirit of Survival to raise funds for the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma. This year during the first weekend of October, Spirit of Survival will host bike tours, a 5K, spirit walk and bubble run.

The 2025 Spirit of Survival events will take place Saturday, Oct. 4 and Sunday, Oct. 5.

Lawton's Elmer Thomas Park will be busy with various Spirit of Survival events the first weekend of October. Below is the full calendar of events for the 2025 Spirit of Survival:

  • Saturday, Oct. 4
    • 8 a.m. - Bike Tours (14, 27, 52 and 64 Mile)
    • 8:30 a.m. - Children's Fun Ride
  • Sunday, Oct. 5
    • 7:30 a.m. - 5K
    • 1 p.m. - Spirit Walk
    • 2-3 p.m. - Kid's Bubble Run

What are the registration costs for Spirit of Survival?

Participants can sign up for multiple events during Spirit of Survival and some are offered in a bundle. Below is the cost breakdown for each event:

  • 5K - $30
  • Spirit Walk - $20
  • Bike Tours - $40
  • Bike Tour with 5K - $50
  • Children's Bike Ride - $15
  • Kid Entry for Kid's Bubble Run - $10
  • Adult Entry for Kid's Bubble Run - $15

Again, all proceeds from Spirit of Survival go to benefit the Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma, which hosts four respective centers in Altus, Lawton, Chickasha and Duncan. Each center provides "state-of-the-art cancer treatment" right here in southwest Oklahoma.
