It’s Official, Tulsa Oktoberfest Named Best in USA
While most towns I've visited across Oklahoma feature some sort of Oktoberfest or Fall Festival each and every year, they're usually not what you would consider "authentic."
It's celebrated in my hometown as a festival of imported sampling beers, Oklahoma versions of German food, and lots of stuff to buy - Scentsy, tchotchkes, and the occasional ride on classic astronaut gyroscopes.
It was much less of a festival, and more of a "come spend money on stuff" type of event.
That's not the case in Tulsa.
The Tulsa Oktoberfest literally transforms the event grounds into a legit Munich Biergarten, with lots of food and beer, and plenty of traditional games and activities to boot.
Will you also find excuses to spend money? Yeah, of course... but that's not the only "attraction" to the festival.
The T-Town Oktoberfest is so legitimate, it's not only officially the #1 rated festival in the USA, it's of the only festivals recognised outside of Germany, famed for the authenticity by Europeans who have visited. Most say it's just like stepping into the festival in Munich.
If you get the chance, make the short trip to T-Town and take in the experience this year. All the details are here.
