Ant-Man

One of the films we're looking forward to the most at Comic-Con 2014 this week is Marvel's 'Ant-Man,' which recently picked up director Peyton Reed and writer Adam McKay -- not too shabby. And now, thanks to this Comic-Con exclusive poster, we have a preview of some of the concept art Marvel will be offering during their panel.

We're just over a month away from the release of 'Guardians of the Galaxy,' the highly-anticipated intergalactic superhero film from Marvel, but there's already talk of possible sequels from Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. The executive also has some hints about 'Ant-Man,' which recently picked up director Peyton Reed and writer Adam McKay.

After Edgar Wright left Marvel's 'Ant-Man,' the studio quickly made an offer to Adam McKay ('Anchorman'), hoping the director could help save the project. The two sides entered "advanced negotiations" but shortly thereafter, McKay decided to pass on the film. Marvel was really in a bind at this point, so they reached out to the #2 option on their shortlist, 'We're the Millers' director Rawson Thurber, with an offer. But, late yesterday came word (via The Wrap) that Thurber too has passed on the job.

'Ant-Man' is gearing up production, and much of the principle cast has been signed, but now it appears that hot character actor Corey Stoll is the latest actor to be rumored to join the great cast of Edgar Wright's upcoming Marvel movie.

As ABC plans to premiere a new hourlong special diving deeper into the Marvel Cinematic Universe than ever before, the studio continues bulking up its properties. Edgar Wright's 'Ant-Man' is the latest to make some major additions to its cast as the studio is currently in negotiations with 'The Conjuring' (and 'The Conjuring 2') star Patrick Wilson, along with the now confirmed talks with Michael

Warner Brothers recently shuffled their release dates when 'Batman Vs. Superman' was moved into 2016 and 'Pan' was put into the date the Zack Snyder film had previously claimed. Marvel, perhaps sensing that an updated version of 'Peter Pan' is no direct competition, has now moved Edgar Wright's 'Ant-Man' up to July 17, 2015.

Marvel announced Monday that Michael Douglas, who just walked away Sunday night with the 2014 Golden Globe for Best Actor in a TV Miniseries or Movie has been cast in the upcoming 'Ant-Man' film as Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man in the Marvel comic book series.
