If you've been outside at all over the past week or so you certainly don't need me to tell you this, there are mosquitoes everywhere! Well, the City of Lawton is fighting back against the recent mosquito invasion with their Vector Program!

It's a battle for the ages and one that we can win if we all band together! So why is Oklahoma being invaded by this scary, alien-looking insect? You've probably seen them in the yard, flowerbeds, and even in your home.

It's that time of year again. Get ready Oklahoma for the annual mosquito invasion! It's a real problem and one that could affect you and your pets. Health experts and veterinarians across the state are warning Oklahomans about the dangers of mosquitoes. Your health and the health of your pets are at risk.

Over the July 4th weekend it was a nightmare of constantly spraying repellent on yourself and lighting Citronella candles.

See, the 17-year cicadas have already started to emerge from the ground, and there are going to be billions of them. BILLIONS. So, you may as well eat some, right?

Generally, when we think of beetles we imagine something black and vaguely menacing, slowly crawling towards our foot. GAH! It turns out, not all beetles are that way.

Generally speaking, we think of moths as the unsettling, night-flying creepster cousin of the butterfly. But *look* at this Emperor Gum Moth! It is at least as cute as a candid shot of a dog. At least. So we scrounged up some more pictures of moths cute enough that we probably wouldn't scream if they made their way into our apartment and started flying into the overhead light...

You might want to stick with the sealed bag of peanuts, after an investigation by the Food and Drug Administration recently discovered the presence of mice, ants and roaches in airline food.

It’s unclear if this cat allowed a beetle to climb atop its head because of an affinity for the enormous bug, or because it is just too tired and lazy to deal with the bold encroachment. It’s probably the second reason, but it’s fun to think that a cat and a beetle could beat the odds and be best friends.
