Continuing its legacy as the state with the most capitol punishments in the country, Texas executed its 11th inmate this year Tuesday night.

Wednesday night, Texas officials executed Daniel Lee Lopez by lethal injection for the 2009 vehicular homicide of a Corpus Christi police lieutenant.

Convicted murderer Clayton Lockett was scheduled to be executed at 6:00 p.m. tonight (April 29). While authorities were administering the lethal injection they discovered the line into Lockett's arm had blown. Prison officials halted the execution and at 7:06 p.m. Lockett suffered a massive heart attack and passed away.
