Well, here we are in the middle of Snowpocalypse 2021 in Lawton, Fort Sill and Mother Nature isn't done with us yet. So far on the East side we've gotten somewhere between 5-7 inches. At least that's what I have in the middle of my front yard, unscientifically measuring the flattest part where there are no drifts.

With the winter storm dumping snow everywhere the City of Lawton has closed Town Hall and a few other properties for the day. If you don't have to get out on the roads, don't. It's gotten pretty bad out there and it's getting worse by the minute. We're expecting anywhere between 3-7 inches of snow today and the forecast calls for more snow tomorrow as well. Not only that it's incredibly cold outside, temperatures are at record lows in single digits and even below zero and negative numbers at times.

Governor Stitt Declares Statewide Winter Weather State of Emergency
Governor Stitt just declared a Winter weather state of emergency for all 77 Oklahoma counties. He just signed the executive orders this afternoon and it will be in effect statewide until weather conditions improve. Oklahoma is expected to get extremely cold temperatures, snow, ice and all kinds of frozen precipitation over the next few days. At his time we're looking at a 80% chance of snow on Sunday, there's a 50% chance on Tuesday and 40% chance of snow on Wednesday. Temperatures will be well below freezing and even below zero for parts of the weekend and going into next week.

If you haven't heard the news yet Lawton, Fort Sill is expecting snow, ice, sleet, freezing temperatures and some of the worst Winter weather we've seen all year. The Snowpocalypse is predicted to start early next week. There's an 80% chance for snow on Sunday, 60% chance for snow on Tuesday and Wednesday is 40%. Of course this will probably change between now and then, but we're definitely going to get some crazy weather over the next couple of days, so be safe out there.
