Snow White and the Huntsman was a pretty decent fantasy-action update on the classic fairy tale with some solid action sequences in the vein of Game of Thrones — which makes The Huntsman: Winter’s War and its blatant riff on Frozen all the more baffling. The latest trailer for the super-weird prequel has arrived, and if nothing else, we can all agree that A. The cast is great, and B. This movie looks BONKERS.
The first Crimson Peak trailer is here and it showcases a side of director Guillermo del Toro that we haven’t seen in far too long. Before Pacific Rim and Hellboy and even the dark fantasy of Pan’s Labyrinth, he made horror movies. Now, del Toro has returned to the genre where he made his name and the first footage from the resulting film looks as gorgeous and creepy as you’d imagine.
Oh, that this was true. Normally, it's nice to pretend that late night "flashbacks" like this are real -- sure, Oprah Winfrey and Jimmy Fallon totally made a soap opera together! -- but this new entry into the subgenre of chat show skits is so weird, so strange, so great that we can only wish it were true. Wish along with us.
Once upon a time, back in 2012, Jessica Chastain was in talks with Marvel to star in 'Iron Man 3' as scientist Maya Hansen. Chastain eventually passed on the role saying, "My schedule is jammed packed and I can’t fit anything else in." (The part would eventually go to actress Rebecca Hall.) At the time, Chastain posted to her Facebook fans, "Hopefully there’ll be another Marvel film in my future." Has that time come already?
Where only a few years ago we saw a Marilyn Monroe biopic featuring Glinda herself (Michelle Williams), Jessica Chastain is now the latest to step into the icon's shoes for the film 'Blonde' (or in her case, perhaps it should be called 'Not a Natural Blonde').
