In a move that hopefully didn’t take a room full of high-priced consultants, ABC has announced the name of Katie Couric’s upcoming talk show: ‘Katie.’
“I think Katie is a unique brand in television,” said executive producer Jeff Zucker in June. “The mere fact that you can just say Katie and know who we are talking about is evidence of that.”
In what the NY Times is calling "one of the worst-kept secrets in television," Katie Couric will reportedly announce her exit from 'CBS Evening News' this week, sources confirmed today.
A replacement for Couric will be announced during the first week in May, after she returns from London, where she will be covering the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

According to a report from the AP, Couric is leaving her historic anchor post at 'CBS Evening News' after joining the program less than five years ago, in 2006. Her next move: a syndicated talk show, which is expected to launch in 2012.
Couric's contract with CBS ends on June 4, though no word on when her official
