Every year the MTV VMAs always have spectacular performances, crazy outfits and of course our favorite singers, but this year, the ceremony is adding some spice by adding a new category: Best Video With a Message. According to MTV, it “celebrates the union between music and social activism, and highlights artists who created music videos that made us think about the world around us.”

Most reality show participants have to sign extensive waivers and agree to terms not seen since the days of indentured servitude. Despite a report from US Weekly, MTV says it has no plans to replace the cast of ‘Jersey Shore.’ “We love the present cast, and their summer adventures have just begun. We currently have no plans to recast the show,” a spokesperson told the Hollywood Reporter Friday.
