Get ready Oklahoma it looks like Mother Nature is about to get really moody. You'll want to stay weather aware over the next several days as Oklahoma is expected to get heavy rains, high winds, and thunderstorms.

Lawton, Fort Sill woke this morning after the thunderstorms yesterday evening to splotches of mud rain covering just about everything, from houses to cars. It was everywhere. If like me you hit the windshield wipers and all you got was mud streaks you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Mother Nature was more than a little moody over the weekend and dumped tons of rain in Lawton, Fort Sill. This of course train wrecked everyone's plans and more than a few events and plans were cancelled and ruined. The Big & Rich concert at Hillary Farms, Lake Lawtonka was cancelled and the City of Lawton was barely able to hold their annual Freedom Festival. There were rain delays, but the fireworks show eventually happened. All in all it was a very wet and miserable weekend outdoors.

I was in the PX recently and a mom was doing some shopping with her two kids (one was six and one was eight).  They were talking about the thunderstorm that had blown through the night before and how scared they (including the mom) had been.  We were both doing the go-down-every-aisle thing when I heard the smallest child ask, "Mommy, but I don't understand why God is angry when there is big

The solution to our water issue may be as simple as a tank.

In light of the sustained draught, Governor Mary Fallin has asked all Oklahomans to set aside time this Sunday, July 17, to pray for rain.
